In reality it was just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill pot, but it was all we could afford and we were damn proud of it.
Ordinary or not, it wasn't long before that shiny kettle was a toughened veteran in the battlefield of brewing. It's resume had rapidly grown to list some fantastic winners, some great failures, some holiday classics, some requested replicas, and many accidents turned favorites.
Unfortunately, in life.....well, things happen. All it takes is handing over your prized kettle for a ball valve and thermometer modification to the wrong hands who see an opportunity to sell it for scrap metal supporting a habit, and well, it's time for you to buy some new equipment. But what is beer making without mistakes? While that certain someone may have stolen our hearts, our baby, he gave us something to memorialize.
So in loving memory of that beautiful hunk of metal that started it all, I decided to name my store THE BREWER'S KETTLE.
Cheers to you, old friend.
